Not everyone gets to tell their story. You do.

Life Story Circle

The Life Story Circle is a place where you get to tell your life story without interruptions, judgment, or fixing. It is also a place where you experience the profound impact of witnessing and listening to another person. Together, these experiences open the door to genuine connections.

No wonder it feels magical.

We have all lived through so many things and been forever shaped and changed by the events in our lives. And yet, there are very few places where we get to tell and hear these stories.

Online, we get to like, comment, and spy on each other, and it’s designed to mimic connection and interaction, and since we’re all doing it . . . it feels normal, even though it’s not. They say that 2026 is the year we return to being more analog. I believe this circle is part of that trend.

Sharing your story is a gift to you and to others.

PEOPLE GET A LOT OUT OF THIS.

We know that people who tell their story get to know themselves in a new way, walk away feeling uplifted and more confident, and often rediscover passions that might have been tucked away or kept secret.

We don't follow curated and polished storylines. Life Story Circles are refreshingly real.
SHARING STORIES IS PART OF OUR DNA.
This is where you get to:
Hear new stories:

We've all been to family gatherings where we hear the same old stories on repeat. No wonder we feel so rejuvenated after hearing just one new story. Like you do in these circles.

Hear stories from different cultures.

We watch strangers on Netflix. We read books about people we will never meet. Imagine what listening to an entire life story from the Chinese or Brazilian woman sitting right across from you will do for you.

Hear stories from all age groups.

When was the last time you heard from an 80-year-old or a 31-year-old? Each generation has its own unique traits, and in our circles, we welcome them all. No wonder people feel so seen and valued.

And before you wonder, 'But who's going to want to hear my story?', let me remind you that we are built for stories.

And then there is that joyful discovery that what you think of as ‘not that interesting’ will be exactly what someone else in the circle needs to hear.

HOW IT WILL ROLL OUT

All the practicalities

Final Gathering: Facilitated reflection, integration, and celebration of the circle journey.

Storytelling in the Circle

Share your story however it feels right.

Use notes, bring props, read word-for-word, or come unprepared and speak from the heart.

Jump around, start in the middle, skip what feels tender, and linger where it matters.

The bottom line is, you get to tell your life story your way.

The floor is yours.

Listen fully without the need to reply. You get to quiet the part of your mind that wants to jump in and ask questions

No fixing.

No cross-talk.

Witnessing is a gift—what happens in the circle stays in the circle.

What often surprises the storyteller: How much their story is affecting others.

What often surprises the listener: How connected they feel to total strangers.

After each gathering, you might say 'thank you for sharing' to the storyteller. Or you might turn to the person next to you and say, 'Want to have a coffee? ' Unfoldment happens.

Ready to join? Great!

This is a beautiful fit for people who love storytelling and love the idea of listening to and learning from others. It’s also perfect for people who find other people’s lived experiences more fascinating than fiction.

And you might be one of those people who want to integrate into your own community in a different way and build connections that are not virtual.

Life Story Circles are not such a great fit for people who prefer small talk, superficial anecdotes, and find the idea of listening to someone else talk about themselves absolutely horrific.

MEET YOUR
FACILITATOR

Dee Dee grew up camping in Yosemite, where evenings around the campfire naturally became story-sharing about each other’s lives—comical, profound, heartbreaking, and life-changing.

This is the spirit she’s bringing to the Life Story Circle.

An experienced facilitator and certified life coach, she creates environments where people feel safe, respected, and heard. Dee Dee is passionate about bringing people together with the sacred intention of sharing, honoring, and witnessing one another’s life stories.

Time and again, it opens the door to a threefold connection—with Self, Others, and God.

"I’m passionate about this work because I have witnessed what can happen in a person’s life when they see that they matter, and when they see that what they share about themselves matters and has ripple effects in other people’s lives. It’s what I call magic.

And why is it that when people go away on retreat, they share things they would never share otherwise? It’s because people come with a more sacred intention."

Some common questions:

WHAT IF I CAN’T MAKE IT TO ALL THE GATHERINGS?

Ideally, you want to be there for all the gatherings. Your participation is an important aspect of the circle experience. If there was ever a time to hire a babysitter, move things around, and clear the calendar, it’s for these designated weeks. If you really want to participate but know you’ll miss a session or two, email me at deedee.coaching@gmail.com and we’ll take it from there.

WHAT IF I CAN’T SIT STILL FOR TWO HOURS?

We're not sitting still that entire time. You can stretch, move your legs, as long as you're not disturbing the group. There will be a bathroom break, and we’ll allow time at the end for comments and questions, if the storyteller is open to it.

WHAT IF MY STORY TAKES LONGER THAN ONE SESSION?

This is a common question, so is, “What if I can’t talk for an entire session?’ To the first question, the answer is: then you’ll be welcome to sign up for the next circle! We can’t expand the evening, and I will keep the time. To the second question, the answer is: Even though we’ll meet for two hours, you won’t be expected to talk for the entire time. The story-sharing portion is designed to give you approximately 75–80 minutes. And if you speak less, we’ll just end earlier. If that is the case- that could be exactly what is meant to happen, and people may use the time to connect with others in the group more organically.

WHY DO PEOPLE RETURN TO LIFE STORY CIRCLE AGAIN AND AGAIN?

No two circles are the same. When someone shares their life story, we all hear the same words, but somehow we notice different things. That noticing goes beyond human connections. When people come together in a Life Story Circle, what is waiting to be unlocked gets unlocked. What wants to be told gets told. What needs to be heard gets heard. Unfoldment happens.

EHM. . WHAT IS UNFOLDMENT?

Good question! Think ripples in a pond, sometimes the ripples happen right away; sometimes they unfold organically over time. It’s one of those words that will make more sense after you’ve participated in one of these circles. It’s a felt experience, which makes it tricky to explain. It’s the difference between describing sugar and tasting sugar yourself.

I'D LOVE TO ATTEND, BUT IT'S OUT OF MY PRICE RANGE.

I'm so glad you brought this up. I always offer one spot at a discount. Email me if you're interested in that spot, and we'll take it from there.
